Craft the perfect OOO (Out of Office) message
5 pm. hits and you’re done. Time to set the right tone for internal emails.
Hi there, I'm out of the office until tomorrow at 8 am. and will respond to emails when I return. If you need to access the blueprints for the Waterman Architecture project, I've placed copies on the server in the Current Project folder. If you need something urgent, please contact Stephanie.
Thanks, Javier
Disconnect and enjoy what life has to offer. The emails can wait. If it was that urgent, they would call, right?
It’s Spring - the flowers are beginning to bloom, the ground is beginning to soften up, and it’s a perfect time to give your well-being a boost by prioritizing your “growth”. Let’s focus on email for just a moment to find out how to strike the right balance between work commitments and personal time:
Step away from the email, there is no gold medal for how many times you check it
I know, just one more look, it will only take a second. Besides, your child isn’t even up to bat yet…Multitasking once was prized as a way to get more done in less time but does it really do that? Maybe it just adds to our anxiety and feelings of being constantly connected to work.
Try this: check your email only 2-4 times per day (like productivity experts say we should anyway). Maybe 8 am., 12 pm., 3 pm. and 5 pm. That’s it. No peeking. Respond to those emails immediately if you can and forget about them until the next check-in time.
