OneDrive for the Win
What are three (3) things you can do with OneDrive?
Store and protect your files.
Share them with others.
Access them from anywhere on all your devices.
OneDrive is powerful cloud storage and synchronization service from Microsoft. Being on the cloud, you can access from anywhere. You can also share and collaborate with others in real-time. You can decide WHO you want to have access to your file and for HOW long. For example, you are working with a client on a long term project and you both need to have access to a folder with a number of files. The project is slated to end in a year’s time. Find your folder. Click on the …, and if it’s the first time sharing, choose Share and set access. If you’ve already given someone access, click on the …, and choose Manage Access. You can also edit the access and expiry permissions by going in the Share Link settings. Remember, you only want to give someone as little permissions as are needed. It is very difficult to change later on, if say, for example, you give someone editing rights and then want to downgrade them to viewing only. There may already be multiple copies of the file out there at that point.
What about if you accidentally delete something or you overzealously edit? Simply right click on the desired file, select Version History from the dropdown, right click on the desired version and select Restore.
Remember OneDrive is set for your own use (hence the word ONE). You decide who, when and where you want to share.
